New Day for Texas HOAS: Overview of 2011 Reform Legislation for Condos and Owners Associations 

These materials were prepared by Roy Hailey and Sharon Reuler (a fellow attorney and colleague from Dallas, Texas) for the June 30, 2011 State Bar of Texas Webcast to showcase the new POA specific laws passed by the Texas Legislature in its 2011 Session (82nd).  Of particular interest are the attachments for Chapters 202, 207 and 209 of the Texas Property Code, which red-line the changes to these Chapters made by the 82nd  Texas Legislature. Also of interest is the “POA Checklist”, which highlights the new laws by subject matter and includes a thumbnail of the bill numbers, sections of the Code amended, effective dates and whether the new laws are applicable to POAs that are condominiums, single-family or both.
